Not sure how you would ever get used to this keyboard … but it looks cool that’s for sure.

If you hold your hand up, and look at your fingers, they do not create a straight line. Each of your fingers has a different length. With a conventional keyboard, you have to contort your fingers to flatten out to allow you to type. This contortion of your fingers is one of the main reasons people end up with repetitive stress injuries (RSI). With a conventional keyboard you have to conform to the keyboard, instead of the keyboard conforming to your fingers. With the Maltron keyboard, the keyboard conforms to your fingers for increased comfort and even improved typing speed.

With a conventional keyboard, only 8 of the 10 fingers get used. With the Maltron Keyboard your thumbs get more use then a conventional keyboard. Additionally, with a the keys being placed in a position more suitable to fit your fingers, you will be able to type faster. Many users report that the Maltron keyboard increased their speed by 20%, though each individual person will experience different results.

The heart of the Maltron keyboard is the key switch. The Cherry MX switches are considered the best keyboard switches in the industry. Cherry switches are known to last 50 million key strokes per key! Many keyboard intensive users report that their keyboards last over 10 years despite heavy usage of the Maltron keyboard. Most inexpensive keyboards made today use cheap membrane key switches. The reason they use membrane key switches is because they are extremely inexpensive. You can buy a membrane keyboard for under $10. But the down side of membrane key switches is their short life, and the damage they cause to the users by causing RSI problems. Other advantages of the Cherry MX key switches are their low and consistant tactile pressure required to activate the key. The Cherry MX key switch is specifically designed to reduce the the pressure to the users fingers and hands.

One of the major causes of RSI is the need to pound the key of membrane key switches to make it activate. This constant pounding takes it toll on the human body over the years. Cherry MX key switches activate HALF WAY thru the key stroke. This means that the user does not have to pound the keys into the base of the keyboard. This significantly reduced the stress to the human body. Use a Maltron keyboard for a day, and you will be amazed the the results!
