You probably know that I am not the biggest fan of the SMC wifi phone after reading the SMC Review couple of weeks ago.
So I sent an email complaining about the phone, by my surprise I received and answer just a few hours later:
Thank you for sending your message.
In response to your E-mail,and for the battery issue i should advice you to try to clean the battery of the phone with a tissue or something similar. Sometimes it can happen that there is a thin oxidation film on the battery which affects the functionality of the product.
After cleaning it please try to charge the unit completely.
Also I should let you know that in the next few days we will release a new firmware which will resolve the issues with the skype phone . Thank you for choosing SMC Networks, Inc
Well, I was laughing out load after reading the thing with the oxidation film … well I tried it and I must admit that the phone lasts much longer and it won’t shut down on me anymore.
Well, let’s see how it works after that software update…
