Amazing Fish Tank

This fish tank is in the foyer of a Beijing hotel, and it looks amazing. Apparently the fish only live for 6 days and it has to be regularly ‘refreshed’. I hope they have a family of cats they can feed to dead fish to. Ross

What’s amazing about that? They can kill fish. What do they want, a medal? Anyone that killed a cat or dog in 6 days would be in jail.

no crap every body freaks out when someone fights a dog but a corparation can get away with slaughtering animals for clients entertainment and thats ok… not saying that i really care but i think that the rules should be the same for every one and every animal

Amazing? Anyone who appreciates the likes of this has something wrong with them. This is the kind of thing I’d expect of Asia, where they take dogs and cats off the street and skin them alive to clothe European nutters – but unfortunately, I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw that in a city in Britain. People seem to be completely ignorant to fish needs in general…

Someone should burn the whole fucking hotel to the ground and kill anyone who stays in it. A goldfish will live for 25 years if properly cared for !! 6 days !!! What the fuck ? It’s not cool ….

HAHA! die fish die!!! i have a rite to say this tho….when i was 12 years old i was swimming in the ocean and a HUGE fish bit my leg and swam away. There was a gigantic infected gash on my left leg and it had to be amputated. I wasnt able to aford a fake leg and now I can’t even get out of bed and walk around for more then 20 minutes. I am 23 now and I HATE FISH with a passion! so DIE FISH DIE!!!

Wow this is really insane. I’d like to stand right up next to it and stare up at it, that’d be a great view.

They probably serve up the expired fish at the food court there or whatever that place is.

This is a disgrace. Lets imagine they did this with birds or mammals, no one would want to see it then. To anyone who has kept fish and genuinely cares about living creatures, this looks digusting. Anyone who looked close would see thousands of fish gasping and dying, esspecially near the bottom, you would find a soup of dying fish. The water would stink of fish as they all excrete huge ammounts of mucus and ammonia due to the high stress levels. With the space and obvious high budget, they could have easily created a tank with serious wow factor,a huge reef tank for example…so many options and the end result is a total waste of time.

Why do they die? no filtration or because of over crowding? why don’t they just make the tank more friendly to the fish? flippin’ jerks!

THIS IS FREAKING CRUELTY!!! i would think people from that area would take better care of there fish… i mean they are famous for raising TOP quality fish… a way they could make it look better AND have healthier fish is make a filter sit on the bottom of the tank and have the filtered water create a little fountain on top…. look way better plus no dead fish

You people are ridiculous. Fish don’t care if they are abused, starved, or slaughtered. Their brains have no concept of fear or pain. Stop watching Disney movies.

This is well beyond ridiculous. Goldfish bowls are bad, but I would guess this is FAR less than equivalent to that. It is disgusting what lengths people will go to for aesthetic appeal while entirely voiding what little humanity there is left for fish. It’s surprising they don’t also display their dogs in tiny cages where their waste builds up with them.

That is the coolest thing ever!!! I even made up a name for it!!! I hereby call it a “think tank” Clever huh?!?! i loved it so much i got one for my own living room!I think it is just a way of life if the fish only live for 6 days. If you think that is cruel, maybe you need to put on your big boy pants and take a slice of reality.

I would like to say a few words on behalf of all fish and fish lovers. Fish do have feelings. They are able to communicate using vibrations as well as body language. This is not at all humane and while I do agree that these people need to stop being idiots, I am aware that even if complained about would not change their treatment towards the fish. Gold fish can live for an extremely long time and have very good memories. I have comets, bettas, and Koi and I have taught most of them at least 5 tricks with both verbal commands and hand signals. Swim through hoops, ring a bell for their dinner, come when called, Kisses, jump up to touch my finger and my Koi can play soccer and roll over to let me stroke his tummy. Most of my fish were trained using cues from a multi colored led flashlight and treat reenforcement Fish can feel pain, agony, lonely, depressed, angry, happy, and bored. The only thing I find efficient in this tank is it’s shape, the upside down cone makes it easy for them to drain the dead fish. It’s very sad that people come here hating on these unfortunate yet very intelligent animals. A big fishie bit your wittle leg and you got some infection while swimming in the ocean? It’s the ocean you moron your lucky it was just a big fish and infection, and I highly doubt you had to amputate your leg. What did you do? Wait a few months after you were bitten to go to a doctor? Or did you simply get lost at sea while your flesh started to fester and decay? Stop pointing fingers at other countries people come on. If you will recall the last time you visited your local pet shop/store I’m sure you will remember the tanks of gold fish where more than half of them have scale rot or are dead and caught in the suction of the filter or strewn about the floor half eaten. There is animal abuse everywhere and unfortunately there isn’t much you can do. Yes it would be wonderful to be able to save them all, is it possible? It depends if all humans are going to be smart, caring, loving…. No, I’m sorry it will never happen. Why? because anyone can buy an animal, but few people have the mental aptitude to be able to comprehend proper animal ownership. Some don’t care, some love animals but don’t do any research, and then there are the people who buy animals just to destroy them because they are sad pathetic people who feel better about themselves when picking on a lessor species. So in conclusion, Love your fish, with a bit of patience and a lot of care an attention you can teach them some really cool things. And on the other hand, all the haters and idiots can go get oil checked with a cactus slathered with turpentine. Thank you. Sorry Fishies….. RIP
