Yesterday was spring tide so we finally managed to walk out on our local Island ….
It was awesome … a whole Island to ourselves – well almost. It was really beautiful, we saw our first seals and Mike managed to collect his dinner – Mussels (Yikes)!
I wanna go back there!
There was an other dude, he was not going for the island but was after some mussels. We were very impressed on his water crossing technique – 2 heavy duty trash bags he put on when it was getting to wet.
And there was this friendly guy (also after mussels) who pointed us out where was the best place to cross for the island… which you can see in the background. I also managed to rake some portraits of him with my medium format camera.
There were sheep on the Island which surprised us …
Misty grass and dune landscapes..
Mike disappearing in the fog.
More fog.
One spooky abandoned house on a hill .. cool!
We had 3 hours on the island … than it was time to go again, because we didn’t feel like swimming back
The seal video …. it’s very far away .. there were a group of 5 seals hunting for salmon.
What a day … we will make this our monthly routine … can’t wait for the summer to camp out there!
