Muff Ireland & other irish town names

Pretty Muff

I know I need to grow up but calling a town "Muff" is kind of funny, I think. So of course, once we spotted Muff on the map we had to go there. We were hoping we could take a picture of a "Muff Hair Dresser", "Muff Crave Yard” or a "Muff Diving School" … well the Muff Beauty and Health store is not bad either.

An other town we passed through was Raphoe

Did Lil’Kim grow up here?

#1 Grainne :

Muff is simply an anglicisation of Magh (field or plain) and Raphoe (pronounced Ra-foe) is “Rath Bhoth” or “Fort of the Huts”. So it’s not quite as hilarious as you think.
