Little Baby Yassir from Berlin was born with 11 toes and 12 fingers (which is very rare). The extra toe is already gone and the 2 extra fingers will be too this summer.
Sometimes I wish I would have 12 finger so I can blog faster.

Why remove the extra fingers from this perfectly healthy baby?? All 12 fingers are actually functional and well-formed; they all work.
The only reason they would do this is so that he would “conform” to societal norms. That is sad.
Why not look at this as a special gift? Imagine what a spectacular piano player this kid could me with his 12 fingers!
It’s just sad they want to mutilate him.

If you’re opposed to removing the extra fingers, try buying him some gloves sometime. He would need special gloves made throughout his lifetime. Now think about all the other situations in his life that would be affected, not to mention the “freak factor”.
Musical instruments and tools are designed for people with 5 digits on each hand. The extra fingers would probably be a liability.
Evolution will not be affected by amputating the extra fingers. Nothing is preventing him from reproducing and causing the mutation to carry forward to another generation. Having two extra fingers, however, might reduce his pool of willing mates

My daughter was born with this disorder, how ever without the toes and her fingers were not fully developed and she has no bone in them. It actually looks like an extra piece of skin hanging. Everyone can say don’t remove it because its not their child that has to deal with it…what about YOUR cruel kids teasing and all the torment this child has to deal with…remove them and be proud of it

I was actually born with twelve fingers and I must say that I am extremely glad that my parents had them removed. I also became a State competitor on the drumline, Blue Chip basketball player and tennis player. The extra finger would have just gotten in the way. Take them off.

I too was born with 12 fingers. They were cut off when I was born but not surgically cause I was born n a small town and some woman did it form what my mom told me. Because they were not removed properly I had what looked like a wart left on my pinky’s. Growing up I felt ashamed and isolated. I was always covering up my pink’s with my thumbs. Kids would ask me what was on my finger and if I told them the truth they would not believe me so I started saying oh it’s just a wart. I was more embarrassed to say it was a finger. I had the rest of it removed when I was 17. When I removed it I felt as if something was missing, but I felt more comfortable because I did not have to hide anymore.

I was born with twelve functioning toes. My parents had them removed when I was 18 months old. Even though they were removed, my siblings still teased me about! I’m 50 now and I still feel where they were and notice them missing. Who can say how amputation at such an early age effects someone. I know I played with all 12 of my toes and then someone decided to cut them off. I wish I still had them.
