From our site Criticker:
Sunday evening, the 79th Academy Awards will take place. We couldn’t resist crunching the numbers and finding out which of the Best Picture nominees our users liked best.
Without further ado… the results. The numbers are the film’s average tier at Criticker, among all users:
1.
The Departed – 8.54
2.
Letters from Iwo Jima – 8.00
3.
Little Miss Sunshine – 7.74
4.
The Queen – 7.23
5.
Babel – 6.34
So, if academy voters have any taste, they’ll choose The Departed as the film of the year … which would be a welcome triumph for Martin Scorcese.
Interested in how Criticker’s users match up against the critics?
1. The Queen – 9.01
2. Letters from Iwo Jima – 8.68
3. The Departed – 8.56
4. Little Miss Sunshine – 7.81
5. Babel – 6.72
It proves our theory: critics are suckers for a British accent and Clint Eastwood. Personally, we trust the opinions of our users more.
