Sunday evening, the 79th Academy Awards will take place. We couldn’t resist crunching the numbers and finding out which of the Best Picture nominees our users liked best.

Without further ado… the results. The numbers are the film’s average tier at Criticker, among all users:
1. The Departed – 8.54
2. Letters from Iwo Jima – 8.00
3. Little Miss Sunshine – 7.74
4. The Queen – 7.23
5. Babel – 6.34

So, if academy voters have any taste, they’ll choose The Departed as the film of the year … which would be a welcome triumph for Martin Scorcese.
