Why was chemistry hated so much at school? (Dull, mathematical and potentially lethal?) The coolest videos on the web are about science and showing kids (and adults) all over the globe of all intelligence levels what only geeks and anarchists knew years ago – That science is fun.
Chemical reactions is the boss though! Check out Random Good Stuff’s own chemistry lesson below.
1. Magnesium + Fire = Light

2. Hydrogen Peroxide + Washing Up Liquid = Foam

3. Potassium Metal + Bromine = Explosive

4. Flourescence. Two experiments. The first one – the green light – is stunning.

5. Colour Change – The traffic light experiment is a glorious reaction which send the substance from green to red to amber

Can anyone tell me what the Chemical Reaction is in the video number 4. Thanks
Trent:
The first part of video #4 shows the dissolution of fluorescein in water.

The second part shows tonic water glowing under a blacklight. Tonic water contains the fluorophore quinine.

Those are some crazy experiments!! What happens when you mix coke and mentos?
