Mosaickr lets you transfer any pictures into a mosaic. For example I turned this lovely image:

into this…

I love it … they let you download a low res version like the one above (324kb) for free or if you want you can download a high res (9.1 MB) for 0.99 cents – which is big enough to print out a whole mosaic poster…. very cheap but creative birthday present.
