Mario is an interesting dude. Think about it. This plumber has had his girlfriend stolen by a giant monkey, saved countless bizarre worlds from reptilian terrors, eaten more mushrooms and blinky flowers that a person probably should, been forced to race on many non-regulation race tracks, and has personally squashed perhaps the largest number of enemies of any video game hero. And what does he have to show for it? A legion of rabid fans and a beach house, sure, but what creature comforts has he earned?
The answer is: plush. Really, Mario’s bedroom is full of these magic mushroom plushies. Sometimes he lounges on them, other times he throws them in fits of manic rage. To keep himself grounded he also has a lot of plush goombas, so he can remember what he might be up against the next time he takes a road he’s never traveled.
