Obviously you have not been on a Ryanair flight lately. On my last flight to London/Stansted they had packed the non-reclining seats so tight my nose almost touched the seatback in front of me.
On the home flight we managed to get the seats at the very front, right after the bulkhead. That helped alleviate the claustrophobic sensation from the previous flight. Can you imagine 6 to 9 hours of that? I don’t.

6-9 hours flying Ryanair is hard - but the money you could spend shopping in NYC will help you get over it
