Ultra Portable BBQ Grills

Will this the the last BBG Grill post in a while? Can’t promise … I am just too excited for the BBQ season to start. We got one of those round grills!

Having a BBQ in the park, or indeed deep in the garden, is one of summer’s great pleasures, and the advent of the portable BBQ gave us all the freedom to dine alfresco wherever we wished. Unfortunately the garage and supermarket instant BBQs, whilst cheap, are horribly environmentally unfriendly, scorch the ground you’re cooking on, and can just about cook a sausage through before petering out. These deeply chic portable barbeques are another thing altogether.

The brilliantly designed Fold Flat Barbeque packs as thin as a wafer thin mint (well not quite) and opens up to provide a 45 x 30cm cooking area. Solidly made from pressed steel, the sides provide a built-in wind break, and being so portable, you can head for the hills whenever you feel the need for the whiff and mouth-watering aroma of a sizzling summer BBQ.

The Carry and Go Briefcase BBQ is the latest in table-top, garden, patio, balcony, deck and park outdoor sizzlers - and it even comes with a carry case. Made from pressed steel, the ’Briefcase’ folds out to provide a generous 48 x 35cm cooking area with integral wind breaks to stop your hot coals blowing all over the shop. Sturdy legs keep the whole caboodle off the ground to prevent you scorching anything, and it’s a great deal more interesting and fun than a normal briefcase (and a lot less flammable). The carry bag is tough and comes with a shoulder strap, so it’s a breeze to whisk off to your perfect BBQ spot. These portable barbeques are well made, well thought out, well good.
