Update … just found this:
Make your own rideable hovercraft
Technorati Tags: Cool, Design, Gadgets, Hovercraft, Popular Mechanics
In highschool I made that hovercraft for my science fair project.
It turns out pretty awesome.
KMark … send me a picture and I will add it .. UNH do you have some documentation on your project .. curious to see.
The best I could do was a copy of the U.S. Patent Office drawings.
It was the BEST ride at Disney. Hovering bumper cars.
Better view of the real thing…

I personally like #2 that hovercraft would certainly have been a “chick magnet” back in the 60′s -I wonder if it floats?
Image labeled # 4 is Princeton University’s first Airscooter. Photograph dates to about 1959 or so, and was made inside the original hanger at Princeton’ Forrestal airport. The pilot is unknown to me. Happily, the Airscooter is on display at the American Helicopter Museum in West Chester, PA.
