Hotels.com and Cheaptickets helped me to organise the trip.
This will be my first post about tips, tricks and stories I would like to share from the trip to Hong Kong / China.
What is the cheapest way to get to your vacation destination? This is the question I always ask myself when I start to plan a trip. Well, if your destination is Asia and you are living in Europe/Canada US West Coast there is only one airline to provide you the best price….
Oasis Hong Kong Airline it is:

Oasis is a fairly new low budget airline which only flies to Hong Kong … right now from London – Gatwick and from Vancouver. If you book early enough you can fly from 300 bucks roundtrip. This can’t get any cheaper.
You could fly even from LA to Vancouver stay a night in an airport Hotel and fly Oasis to Hong Kong the next day … that will be still cheaper then buying a RT ticket from the big airlines.
And this is what we did….. We took the bus from Sligo to Dublin … stayed 2 nights with friends and flew with Ryanair to Gatwick to catch our flight to HK. It can’t get any more low budget.
But please leave enough time between flights…. because Oasis/Ryanair or any other low cost air are no connecting airlines. That means you have to collect your luggage after each arrival. And for example our flight with Ryanair to Gatwick would have had delays so we missed our Oasis flight the whole vacation would have been over. Since you can’t rebook / Ryanair would be not responsible for connecting flights. A risk game to play. But it did work out for us ![]()
Oasis offers economy and business class …. Flying economy was very pleasant …comparing the service it’s the same thing compared to most of US Airlines. They offered a Meal, Breakfast, free Soft Drinks…. and in seat entertainment…. over 10 movies channels with slightly outdated movies. So no new films …. The latest flicks were shown in the business class.
Oasis lets you prebook your seats for a fee .. that’s what I decided to too and snatched us seats in the emergency exit row … On a 11 hour flight those seats can make a huge difference.
The flight crews were all super nice …. no bitchy attitude … just nice and very helpfull.
All together Oasis superb and budget friendly choice… RGS aproved.

Oasis is planing to add 3 more Airports in Germany Berlin and Köln/Bonn and Milan I think this year. And in the near future they are planning on leaving from Oakland and Chicago as well.

Infotek sent me a booming $50 donation … Thank you very much. Do you wanna buy me a drink?
Larissa, I was basing this entry about the experience I made with Oasis flying from Europe. It looks like they have different promotions. And also we too Ryanair (a cheap carrier) where you can fly for 1 cents plus taxes.
looks like they got liquidated
Looks like that wasn’t a good business model. The company is in liquidation…

hey, where do u get 300 bucks round trip from. its $299 one way so RT would be 300 plus taxes the site said the price would come up to 700-800 bucks for vancouver to hkg RT. I live near toronto so like u said about flying from LA to vancouver then taking oasis would still be cheaper than a RT ticket from the bigger airlines, which i totally disagree with. for me to fly to vancouver from near toronto would be 300-400 + $ either RT or each way , but even if RT, my total after taxes would be way over 1000$, and i could get a major airline around 800+ tax…so it is pretty much the same thing, no deals for us here.
