banana-Door-Stopper

I honestly have a banana phobia … this door stopper really freaks me out. I feel like screaming.

Normally the sight of a banana skin lying on the floor would be indicative of some pretty sloppy house keeping, or the presence of wandering primates (or maybe teenagers, the difference is negligible), but not this time. Japanese designer Takashi Ohba has taken a slapstick and slightly fruity approach to door wedging with this cartoonesque peeled banana door stop. More useful than a wig on a kipper, and more attractive than a badger in tights (as indeed many things are), the Banana Door Stop is where oriental design meets occidental door jamming. It’s beautiful, it’s practical and it’s edible. No it isn’t, on no account attempt to eat it, it has little or no nutritional value, and whilst it’s texture may be an improvement on your supermarket’s so-called ’ready to eat’ (yeah, if you’re a horse) fruit, it will render you toothless in no time at all. Reserve it for designer door-wedging only.
