Yes … you hear it right. We are moving to Spain .. ASAP. And there is nothing what can hold us back. Ireland is fine and the nature is great … We had a wonderful day driving around to explore new things … even our dog loved it:

But … living in the middle of nowhere kind of gets old and our initial time we wanted to stay in Ireland was 1 year… We are at 13 month. It’s time … time for sun!
At first though we are going to the US in 10 days for 2 weeks (Guest Blogger … attention
) to see your little niece and family and the last 5 days we are going to Florida for a wedding. Yeah!
But once we are back, the planing is going to start .. Spain here we come. We are thinking of Valencia but we are not to sure yet and that move will happen in the beginning of January or February.
I know I have couple of readers from Spain … so do you have any tips on how to find an awesome apartment. Do you maybe by any chance have an apartment for rent (even if it’s in Bilbao, San Sebastian or Barcelona) or know some or have links to sites where they have apartments to rent.
Or any other input would be awesome too.
EXCITING!
Laura, thank you for the note … It can’t rain more in Bilbao then in Ireland. That’s not possible.. .lol
What is your favorite city in Spain?
Yes RGS, It´s possible. I´m from Bilbao too, and rains 366 days per year
))
The best option is Barcelona, my family is from there, and you have everything that you want, I´ts amazing… and you’ll find good weather heheheh. Barcelona rules!!!
Best regards
That picture is dead funny! I got a good laugh out of that. On to Spain… I’ve only ever been to Madrid. I am sticking to the UK (Bradford/Leeds) for now. Sorry I cant offer much help for Spain. But, I just wanted to mention something because the picture on this post is cool.
Seth … isn’t Barcelona over run with tourists? Is Valencia no good? … Questions over Questions
Matthew yeah my dog Chucky is always good for a laugh
..
I will check out that Ireland blog. We lived there for 13 years in Cork and I went to college in Dublin, Trinity College.
We moved from UK to Barcelona last year, so we now have 13 months under our belts! We are loving it! We live just on the outskirts of the city in Castelldefels, which is not at all busy apart from July/August when all the Spanish Barcelonians move out of the city to their weekend apartments.
We bought a house up on the Costa Brava, which is wonderful, but we rent here in Castelldefels. Living in Barcelona would probably be busier, but would depend what part of the city you chose.
One site that I’ve found very good is http://www.notesfromspain.com and think that you might get a lot from it.
I think you will love this part of Spain, the weather and lifestyle! We certainly do.
Good luck on your new Spanish life!
I’ve never been there, but I do know housing can be pretty expensive there (real estate bubble anyone?). But well, if you have a property to sell in Ireland I suppose you can invest that back on a property in Spain. Easy!
As I said above, I’ve never been there, but I do have relatives all over Spain, and I could tell you that if you want some sun, head for the south…
Thank you all for your comments. What will happen next is that we are going to travel for couple of days in November to Valencia to check out the Neighborhoods. I will report

Hi there,
Most of the year it’s raining (except from may to september). So if you are looking for sun I really recommend you moving to the south! Enjoy it!!
I’m from Bilbao, the north of Spain, and I don’t think you’ll find nice weather there
