cheap-projector

I wonder how good the quality is for that price. This item won’t ship in the US, so does anyone know a US site selling this projector?

Giant Plasma and LCD screens are a great way to watch movies, but boy are they expensive. Well this brilliant little Alien Tech LCD Video Projector will turn any blank wall into your very own home cinema. Whether you’re watching movies, TV or playing games big style, this great gizmo, complete with its own inbuilt amp and speaker system, will project all the action onto your walls. Delivering a six foot diagonal image at its optimum projection distance of 80 inches, it’s also truly portable (weighing only 1.5kgs) so you can easily move it from room to room.

Listen to the action through the speakers, or plug in headphones to give everyone else a bit of peace and quiet, and it even has a vertical stand, so you can lie on your back and watch the action on the ceiling. It comes with focus, brightness and contrast controls and is suitable for use with DVD Players, TVs, PCs, Nintendo, Playstation, X-Box, iPods and Digital Cameras. Bring the big screen home, and move it from room to room on a whim!

Ooh, I might save up and get one of those - looks like it might be fun to tinker with!

Shame they don’t seem to give any manufacturer information or details on resolution, color depth etc - would make it easier for you to source an alternate supplier, eh?

Hi I haven’t got one but they are selling them both at large retail chain called, the Warehouse in New Zealand where I am from and other stores are selling them online at several places including shipping to the USA The catalogue here in NZ outlines the following specs aboutthe projector, optimal projection of 60″ Maximum 80″(200cm)4.3 ratio, which in other words means it displays the picture as a square picture not widescreen. standard RCA inputs, though one mentions using S-video as well.

Uses 12A DC adaptor included. Resolution is 960×240, which is low, though remember most normal square tubed TV’s only have a resolution of 480×480 and same with many of the earlier VGA projectors, yet some have great picture quality.

Works best apparently in darkened room on white or light surfaces. Supports both NTSC and Pal broadcasting formats Uses of a standard halogen lamp, so I would guess you won’t have to pay nearly $500.00 dollars or more for a replacement bulb, like many lcd projectors.

Is suppose to be compatible with TV, VCR, DVD players and most gaming consoles, Someone did mention that the earphone output can be used to plug in a really good pair of multimedia speakers if you wish, though has built in speakers anyway. Other features, bightness, contrast and hue controls and comes with upright mount so you can turn it up to play on your ceiling.

uber.com has a review I believe not a very positive one but its from just one person and it will be of course not as clear as a standard 1080dpl projector. You could try projecting it on a piece of MDF wood or pull down vinyl blind spray painted with normal gloss silver like many 100″ tV projector enthusiest do this gives a really good gain.

I did find two online stores shipping to the USA so whether or not you can find them dunno cant remember which they were good luck I will let you know if I get one whether it’s really really specail or whether is only good enough to watch an inconveinient lie to create public taxes on.
