Wii Fit Good-1

To answer the question in the title – YES!

We bought Wii Fit 2 weeks ago here in Valencia which is extremely surprising because Wii Fit doesn’t come out in the US until the May 21. Odd, usually we have to wait at least 6 month for games to hit the European market.

Any way – above you see Mike doing some kind of balance game on our crappy TV with a low MHZ standing on the Wii Board.

Have we lost weight – using Wii Fit? Yes, a little.

We did extremely good at the beginning week but as you can see we both made a big jump on 8th – the bad after effects of having guest kicked in. Too much drinking and eating and not doing our Wii Fit training and regular work out like jogging and swimming.

Here a closer look on my graph:

Yes, as you can see I am overweight. Too much blogging and sitting at my desk (especially in Ireland) drove me to it. I never weight as much than in the last week in Ireland. But just by living here – being more active and eating my big meal for lunch made me drop at least 4 pounds.

CRAZY!

Will Wii Fit make you drop crazy weight right away.

I’d say no. Because the exercises at the beginning are very easy but they do get harder because you unlock new ones or you will be able to do more repeats.

But what Wii Fit does to you right away is generating body awareness. I constantly think about my posture and the amount of exercise I do every single day.

Every morning I do the Wii Body Test – which weighs me and tells me how my posture is (Wii Fit also measures your posture while doing exercises and points out when you do something wrong) . After that I try to do up to 15 minutes of Wii Training where you can choose between these workout groups:

And yes I do Yoga now.

The Wii Fit is the perfect exercise game for Bloggers and or everyone else spending ours on the desk. Wii Fit even suggests to do couple of quick balance games to take off your mind when you are stressed. It works.

After my 15 minutes of Wii workout a day I am sweating now and I am extremely motivated to do more things for my body.

*Just got back from jogging and I was thinking the whole time why they would release Wii Fit first in Europe. Well – one possible answer could be that Nintendo is trying to protect themselves from possible law suits in the US. You have to be fit and not in pain using Wii and if you have any concerns you should consult a doctor.

But overall it can’t be bad moving your body. Almost everything is better than vegetate in front of the TV or a desk.

Wii made me feel better and this already is worth shelling out the money.

Also, if you decide to buy the Wii – let me know what you think about it. And the first 10 people who send me a unique screenshot of their graph how well they did in the first month and let me publish them on RGS receives 5 Euros via paypal from me.

Yeah, I can’t wait for this game to be released. I just got a wii two weeks ago and I love it! wii fit will be a nice addition… it seems like no one else can develop wii games like nintendo can. No More Heroes is pretty sweet though.

I’m planning on buying one for Chrissy. She already exercises quite a bit. Do you think she’ll still love Wii Fit? Everything I’ve read about it really makes it look fun and useful (like much of what Wii has produced). However, I’m afraid that its novelty will wear thin. Also, are there any competitive modes, or is it really just you against yourself?

    We both love it.

So far it hasn’t gotten boring – since you really want to weigh yourself every single morning and there are tons of exercises to use muscle you would not usually use when for example running is your main workout.

Not much competition going, except for comparing each other how well you did in certain exercises.

Dropped an other 1.2 kilo … yeah!

I’ve heard that Nintendo is releasing the Wii Fit (as well as other games) in Europe and Asia before North America because the American dollar is so weak. I definitely believe that theory!

Our Wii fit arrived about 9 days ago, since then my 10 year old son has used it every day and has mastered nearly every balance game. He loves it! I’ve been on it, given my schedule, quite a bit. It’s been a great way to share something valuable and still have fun with my son. I haven’t lost weight, but I’ve been more mindful of my posture, my eating habits and my exercise level. Of course, that’s been helped by my son goading me–you haven’t been on the wii fit today mom! The other members of my family however, are not on board (pun intended). They view it as a foreign object and more than once we’ve been kicked off so they could watch TV. Despite their reaction or lack of one, I would recommend the fit to others, especially families. The balance games are fun, skiing down hill trying to direct your mii through flags and boxing are two of my favorites. Now if I could just get him to sit down and read a book!

    Saja,

good to hear that you are having fun with the Wii. I am going to do a follow up post soon – because I am very close to reach my ideal weight … and Wii Fit helped a lot.

Also, I have heard there will be bringing out Wii Read soon, lol!
