Sweet – I wonder how long they run. This concept applied to other forms would make awesome garden lights as well.

What a hoot! Do you people not do laundry? If adding bleach to water, then exposing it to sunlight, actually generated illumination, many of us would be wearing glow-in-the-dark underpants.

Ok , People seem to be confused watching this.
Look at the first frame in the video , it shows several of these bottles. Where are they ? They’re sticking out through the roof of the house. Clorox makes the water clean thus alowing more light to propagate through it. The sunnier outside , the sronger the intensity of the rays hitting the top of the bottle which sticks through the roof create more light inside. You put them in a dark room , and they won’t do SH*T .

we are studying this in my electrical class. its a basic wet cell battery. you have an electrolyte solution (water and clorox) w/ 2 dissimilar metals serving as the electrodes in the solution. the chemical solution reacts w/ the metals causing one to lose electrons and the other to gain. this causes EMF of difference of potential. find a cheap LED light bulb and there you have. Electricity 101
