You would be amazed and shocked at how many burn injuries result from kitchen fires yearly (go take a look at statistics)... I personally HAVE SEEN a grease fire UP CLOSE (thanks to an after school snack of french fries and my stupidity of leaving the kitchen to watch T.V. - next room and not even a wall between the two)... I could have saved myself, my mother and my family a LOT of pain and suffering, along with almost the LOSS of MY HAND & A PERMANENT SCARE, I have lived with for 24 yrs...if I would have had those handy dandy (not to mention cheap) little 'fire flowers' in our kitchen.... so...I THINK THEY ARE A GREAT ADDITION TO ANY KITCHEN, BUT ESPECIALLY THOSE KITCHENS WITH KIDS, TEENAGERS, AND THE ELDERY!!
