GPS-Mission

Here comes a neat idea when traveling – GPS Mission. This site offers games other users set up. It’s like a treasure hunt and forces you very often to leave the beaten track.

Living in Valencia I of course had to set up a mission here. I kept it pretty standard but if people start playing it and giving good feedback I might start a mission to introduce Valencia not every tourist might experience. Sounds kind of scary, ey?

Setting up a mission is super easy – you just drop little flags (checkpoints) on a map and add riddles, photos and that’s basically it.

Now someone with an a GPS cell phone and the downloaded GPS Mission Software can take off to explore the world. One question though *cough … where is the iPhone application?

Overall I think GPS Mission is a great idea – it will get you out of the house and maybe even introduces you to things you even didn’t know about your hometown.

Feel free to sign up and to create your own mission and you are very welcome to post URLs of missions you have created as a comment.
