I bought this remote for my parents like 3 Christmas' ago at Radio Shack; it truly is awesome. The software is soo easy to use, and it has a huge database of home electronics serial numbers; I set the remote up in an hour or so. It's funny that you feature this remote after such a long time, their design has not changed much; except the color, my model is silver. It's about 30 dollars cheaper now, and I totally recommend it; especially if you have parents who are overwhelmed with remotes. Plus, their idea of an "Activities" button is ingenious; it allows you to program certain functions and label them via your pc/mac. So I have programmed a "Watch Movie" action for my parents; when they select "Watch Movie", the television, the AV receiver, and the DVD player will all turn on simultaneously, and the buttons are applied specifically to the necessary components; and when they are done, the power button turns it all of in one click. They love it! I suppose you could do some awesome hacks with this as well. Buy one, don't like it - return it; if you do, keep it!
