What's up with the stupid headpiece? Why is his finger in the trigger well? Why is the weapon not on safe?

Someone doesn't know the 4 weapons safety rules:

1) Treat every weapon as if it were loaded,
2) Never point your weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot,
3) Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to fire,
4) Keep your weapon on safe until you intend to fire

In-ear bone mics have been around for years, and are far more functional. Plus you don't have that stupid looking thing on your throat. They are used extensively by military special ops, Secret Service details, and SWAT teams because you can sub-vocalize and the receiving party can still understand you clearly.

Also, why is that gangly, pasty-white, 14 year-old nerd holding an M-4? He's liable to hurt himself.

Fred Frith's band Massacre used a throat mic as its main vocal mike on their first album, Killing Time, from 1981.

I've been selling throat mics for years. They work fairly well, but only if the pickups are in the right position. You have to feel your throat while you speak and try to place the pickups on the parts where you can feel the most vibration. If they shift at all, you get a lot of, "say again your last" as a response.
