As a German these symbols are a very touchy object. It’s a big no, no and both symbols are outlawed in Germany, even though the Buddhist swastika has nothing to do with Germany’s past. You won’t find a Buddhist temple in my country displaying this symbol.
A Buddhist Swastika – And Not A Nazi Hakenkreunz
The nazis back in the day just used this religious symbol, mirrored it and turned it by 45 degrees and made it their own. I didn’t know anything about the previous past of the swastika and I was in shock when I encountered it for the first time at a temple in Hong Kong. Just couldn’t imagine that these monks were nazis. They’re not but got their swastika taken from them. The video below I filmed in Saigon.
