    podcast-usb-microphone

I’m just a stinkin’boring blogger. So, I have no idea if this anything useful. But to me it looks like the perfect mic for all the podcasters out there (are people actually still listening to podcasts?).

Evoking the microphones used by broadcasters in radio’s golden age, this is the spherical USB condenser microphone that transforms your home office into a recording studio. It captures clean digital sound comparable to microphones used in professional studios, making it ideal for podcasts, voice or musical instrument recording, video conferencing, or voice-over-IP telephony.

It has two selectable polar patterns: cardioid, allowing it to pick up sounds directly in front at full volume (and sounds behind it at diminished volume) or omnidirectional, allowing it to pick up sounds at equal volume at 360º. A pivot mount on the bottom of the microphone allows you to position it 45º forward or backward and a removable shock ring mount isolates the microphone from structural noise that can muddy sound. The aluminum tripod stand extends to 6 3/4" at full height. For Windows XP/Vista or Mac.

    Atlanta

Did you notice the lack of posts. My mom arrived on Monday with her BF ( he deserves his very own blog, not going into detail here!!!) and I have to prepare my photo shooting in Atlanta. My day-rate for this job seems very high at first sight but after now adding up all the expenses it’s kind of scary how much is left. Let’s say I will still make a profit.

I can already count down the hours and I should be packing right now. They trip over there will be somewhat hellish. Eeeek thinking about it gets me super excited. I only drove though Atlanta one time so I’m really looking forward to explore the city.

After the job in Atlanta I will be flying to Pittsburgh where I will meet Mike ( who comes flying in from Spain) and his parents. We will be spending a night there and explore the city the next morning a little before we drive to Ohio University to check out the Campus (Mike used to study there) apparently a really neat university and party town ;) . After that off to Springfield Ohio to hand with Mike’s Bro, sister in law and cute little niece. Then a visit to Marker’s Mark, Keeneland for some betting on horses and the highlight of the whole trip … visiting the Creation Museum. In between some relaxing at a small lake house in KY and my then back to Spain.

    Pant, pant!

I’m trying to give my best to do some blogging about my trip but I can’t promise. So guest bloggers – you are wanted ( you will earn yourself a link back to your own site in each guest blog on RGS).

Also, tons of readers ask how they can help me and what are ways to support Random Good Stuff ( this is a total lie) my answer is donations:

    please-donate

Why donate? Well, nobody forces you and nothing changes if you don’t but if you are reading RGS and you kind of like it and feel like giving me a little boost to my my US trip and make it a little bit more fun and got couple of bucks to spare (even just one) … why not! And you even will get something out of it as well.

But first here are couple of things you could help with:

    • Wifi (while waiting at airports, during flights or while hanging at the hotel)
    • Beer (buy me a drink, you know I’m German)
    • Take me out for dinner
    • Upgrade me to to Business or First Class (Yeah right!)
    • Send me shopping (I’ll promise, I will only go to Old Navy)
    • Admission to the Creation Museum
    • Or just make my wallet look really big ( bunch of 1 Dollar bills)

When you hit the donation button you will get redirected to Paypal and there I will ask you if you want me to mention your site or business (nothing spamy – sorry!) and I will mention your help and site as much as I can while I’m blogging from the US. This could send you a nice amount of traffic and maybe new clients and new readers. And tell me how I should use the money.

So it’s not just for nottin’!

Also, if you got some Atlanta, Pittsburgh, OH or KY tips feel free to let me know. And if you are from these places and want to meet up, just let me know.

Other than that … follow me on Twitter. I’ll be tweeting tons while traveling. With fun updates and pics.

Thank you your time and reading my silly little blog.

Most of the readers know I live in Valencia, Spain and no you don’t have to be afraid me talking about Fallas again. :) But I wanted to introduce you to two people living the live of a Truman. Couple of days ago a reader of my Valencia Tweets told me about this girl vlogging from Valencia. Turns out she just moved to Valencia and is filming herself every single day. And same does her boyfriend who is in the US to publish a daily video show.

    So may I introduce Alli:

    alli

    and Charles Trippy:

    charles

They have started filming 137 days ago. Each daily video generates over 100,000 views and their Daily Video Youtube Channel has over 80,000 subscribers ( even though Charles mentioned an other number but maybe I’m not looking right) and is growing daily.

The promise is to record and publish a video every single day as long someone is watching. And I think this could become really huge! Not just this show but this kind of entertainment. I think from a show like this you could even make a living. Film yourself, get sponsors and film some more and have a great life.

These guys already have sponsors and viewers send in tons of gifts. Not sure if they can make a living off it yet but they are on the right track and wish them all the best.

With that show the might gain freedom to do anything they want and Live any place they desire. AWESOME.

It’s like what we are trying to do with our websites ( Criticker, Lastminute Auction, Ireland Blog, Valencia Blog and my photography) to be able to move anywhere we want as long as we are connected to FAST internet. And we do have plans to take more advantage of it but for now we are saving up some $$$ and enjoying Valencia some more.

Back to to the Show. You can follow Alli and Charles on twitter as well ( <— links) visit their website or their Youtube channel.

    Keep up the good work!!!

Here some random videos of their lives:

    What a sucky day!

First I got woken up in the middle of the night because a gigantic crane went by our house since they were finally getting ready to deconstruct the burned down theater behind our house. Sweet with a 4 month delay. So they started today with this:

    valencia fire

Nice. This pictures is take from our roof and that theaters was a whole block. We already live in hell but now we have this constant dust coming into our place and don’t get me started on the noise. I mean sweet. How am I supposed to work?

On top of that my Toshiba laptop totally crashed this morning and refuses to start up again. No more warranty and it’s not even 2 years old and I already had to send it in not too long ago for some kind of motherboard problem. MAN!  On my shit list now: Toshiba and Acer!

Great … so the computer dude told me not to expect the laptop back within the next 2 weeks so I finally went to buy a “backup” desktop for only €299!!! Effen cheap. It’s super fast, quite and looks pretty sweet too:

    acer aspire x1700

The Acer Aspire X1700 aka U3700A in the USA. WTF … didn’t I just say Acer no more. Well, they had a great deal and me not much money. So .. what the hell. I shopped it.

    Specs:

    • Box Contents – Acer AX1700-U3700A Desktop PC, Acer USB Keyboard, USB Optical Mouse, USB Amplified Stereo Speakers; Software Bundle – Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit Edition with Service Pack 1, Microsoft Works 9.0SE, Microsoft Office Home and Student Edition 2007 60-Day Trial, McAfee Internet Security Suite 2008 60-Day Subscription, 1-Year Limited Warranty
    • Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2220 2.4 GHz Processor
    • 1 MB L2 Cache, 800 MHz Front Side Bus
    • 4096 MB DDR2 RAM
    • 640 GB (7200RPM) SATA Hard Drive

    Processor, Memory, and Motherboard

    • Hardware Platform: PC
    • Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core Duo
    • Number of Processors: 2
    • RAM: 4000 MB
    • RAM Type: DDR2 SDRAM

    Hard Drive

    • Size: 640 GB
    • Type: Serial ATA

    Cases and Expandability

    • Weight: 19 pounds

So far so good and the price … OMG not beatable. I will keep you posted how it goes with this little dude.

    More info: Acer Aspire X1700

So I spent all day to set up the new machine … FRUSTRATING. Oh well, it’s almost all done but I still feel pretty down. Hate days like this. When was the last time you had a day like that?

I’m so in need for a vacation. Didn’t go anywhere for the last 2 years. Our Hong Kong trip was the last time off. But with all the moves in the last years and the probably next move coming up I just don’t see any vacation in the near future. I would be already happy with couple of days here … dream vacation!

Anyone feels sorry for me and wants to sponsor a little vacation for us? Promise we would blog about it. The truth is we do live in a city where other people do their vacation but I would love to see something new for once.

Ok … you don’t have to shell out $$$ to make me happy. But you could make me happy by subscribing to the Random Good Stuff RSS Feed (I’m sooo close to the magic 5,000 subscriber number). Or following me on twitter would do it too. Best though is to recommend RGS to people. That would make my day.

Now … back to work … less bitching and thank you for listening.

    40-second-toothbrush

Needs it. Gives me more blogging time!

This is the world’s most efficient electric toothbrush that thoroughly cleans all of your teeth in 40 seconds, reducing necessary brushing time by 66%. Unlike typical toothbrushes that only clean one surface at a time, this advanced model has four heads that clean six surfaces–the front, back, and chewing surface of top and bottom teeth–simultaneously.

The electric toothbrush automatically executes the Bass technique, a brushing method recommended by the American Dental Association: the bristles are aligned at a 4° angle and move towards and away from the gums 810 times per minute to remove bacterial plaque from teeth and at or below the gumline.
