    Procession Desamparados-5

Finally back on schedule with the RGS Link Friday! Yeah!

Weather here in Valencia has been crappy. It’s rainy, cloudy and it’s getting more humid every single day. Which is scary. But non and the less the Valencians are pushing through with their festivals… as you can see above.

If you are interested what’s going on right now in Valencia:

Poooh - this city keeps us busy!

An other interesting thing is that Google seems to like RGS more and more .. right now I am getting tons of hits for the search term "Fusion Man" …. it’s almost my main traffic source right now. Thank you big G!

Well almost .. because RGS gets most traffic from other sites linking in and of course returning readers. RGS would be a fart without you!

Thank you all and here a little something for sites linking in:

Do you want to be on that list? Just snatch some content and link back to RGS, or link to Criticker, MrDealio or Lastminute Auction in a post… it’s that easy. To get my attention you can email me. If I would be you …. I’d try to be one of the first ones to link to RGS .. this might get you a spot on top of the list.

Ever since Wii Fit I am all about body awareness and health - here an other geeky workout. (By the way … lost an other 1.2 kilo)

You’ve got the greatest gaming rig out there. You’ve spent a lot of money on it - now it’s a monolithic liquid-nitrogen-cooled monstrosity capable of pumping out smoother 3D video than real-life. Your pointing device is sensitive to a billion dpi, and your keyboard has a customized throw-distance tuned exactly to your finger length. After all this effort, you still get pwned by n00bs.

What’s the problem? Your rig may be awesome, and your brain may be sharp and quick, but if your body doesn’t respond to your brain’s commands correctly, you may as well be playing with mittens on. You need physical conditioning, Daniel-san, and there’ll be no wax-on-wax-off, no sand-o-floor, no paint fence.

The Xtensor is the only product on the market to perform with true biomechanical correctness, able to stimulate muscles and tendons in the hands, wrists and elbows that have been virtually off limits to all other devices. Repetitive gripping and squeezing of your game-controller or mouse forces extended isometric contractions of the flexor muscles of the hands and fingers producing an unnatural imbalance over time as the hands operate in a mostly closed position. For this reason, patients with hand, wrist and elbow disorders experience unnecessarily long healing times and high reoccurrence rates. Everybody got that?

Flexing with the Xtensor between gaming sessions will make your reaction-times much quicker, and will mean no cramping hands after all-night fragging sessions.

    Wii Fit Good-1

To answer the question in the title - YES!

We bought Wii Fit 2 weeks ago here in Valencia which is extremely surprising because Wii Fit doesn’t come out in the US until the May 21. Odd, usually we have to wait at least 6 month for games to hit the European market.

Any way - above you see Mike doing some kind of balance game on our crappy TV with a low MHZ standing on the Wii Board.

Have we lost weight - using Wii Fit? Yes, a little.

    wii-fit-Yogo

We did extremely good at the beginning week but as you can see we both made a big jump on 8th - the bad after effects of having guest kicked in. Too much drinking and eating and not doing our Wii Fit training and regular work out like jogging and swimming.

Here a closer look on my graph:

    wii-Fit-Fun

Yes, as you can see I am overweight. Too much blogging and sitting at my desk (especially in Ireland) drove me to it. I never weight as much than in the last week in Ireland. But just by living here - being more active and eating my big meal for lunch made me drop at least 4 pounds.

    CRAZY!

Will Wii Fit make you drop crazy weight right away.

I’d say no. Because the exercises at the beginning are very easy but they do get harder because you unlock new ones or you will be able to do more repeats.

But what Wii Fit does to you right away is generating body awareness. I constantly think about my posture and the amount of exercise I do every single day.

Every morning I do the Wii Body Test - which weighs me and tells me how my posture is (Wii Fit also measures your posture while doing exercises and points out when you do something wrong) . After that I try to do up to 15 minutes of Wii Training where you can choose between these workout groups:

    wii-fit-menu

And yes I do Yoga now.

The Wii Fit is the perfect exercise game for Bloggers and or everyone else spending ours on the desk. Wii Fit even suggests to do couple of quick balance games to take off your mind when you are stressed. It works.

After my 15 minutes of Wii workout a day I am sweating now and I am extremely motivated to do more things for my body.

*Just got back from jogging and I was thinking the whole time why they would release Wii Fit first in Europe. Well - one possible answer could be that Nintendo is trying to protect themselves from possible law suits in the US. You have to be fit and not in pain using Wii and if you have any concerns you should consult a doctor.

But overall it can’t be bad moving your body. Almost everything is better than vegetate in front of the TV or a desk.

Wii made me feel better and this already is worth shelling out the money.

Also, if you decide to buy the Wii - let me know what you think about it. And the first 10 people who send me a unique screenshot of their graph how well they did in the first month and let me publish them on RGS receives 5 Euros via paypal from me.

    Good-for-Nature-Mower

No! Not Neuter Mower - Neuton! Jesus!

The EPA estimates that of the 800 million gallons of gas used to fuel lawn mowers in the U.S. every year, about 17 million gallons are spilled, which can contaminate ground water. However, your “it’s bad for the environment” excuse for not mowing the lawn is about to end. The Neuton Battery-Powered Mower (2007) is a smart alternative to loud, gas-guzzling machines that are difficult to start.

It runs on a rechargeable battery, and in place of a pull-cord, this mower starts by turning a safety knob and squeezing the handlebar. When the handlebar is released, the blade stops spinning. The Neuton Mower produces no CO2 emissions, and the 24-volt battery gives you enough juice to mow for 45 to 60 minutes, or approximately a third of an acre per charge. Included with the Mower are a Mulching Plug, Bagger, Side Discharge Chute, Battery and Battery Charger, Safety Key and two wrenches.

There are no spark plugs or air filters to replace, and the Neuton never needs a tune up. The cutting height is adjustable, and if you’re still looking for an excuse for not mowing the lawn, here you go: Longer grass tends to have a deeper root system, and needs less water than shorter grass.
