Here comes a neat idea when traveling - GPS Mission. This site offers games other users set up. It’s like a treasure hunt and forces you very often to leave the beaten track.

Living in Valencia I of course had to set up a mission here. I kept it pretty standard but if people start playing it and giving good feedback I might start a mission to introduce Valencia not every tourist might experience. Sounds kind of scary, ey?

Setting up a mission is super easy - you just drop little flags (checkpoints) on a map and add riddles, photos and that’s basically it.

Now someone with an a GPS cell phone and the downloaded GPS Mission Software can take off to explore the world. One question though *cough … where is the iPhone application?

Overall I think GPS Mission is a great idea - it will get you out of the house and maybe even introduces you to things you even didn’t know about your hometown.

My guess is that this will be the most popular iPhone application for the iPhone unless Skype finally manages to release an official Skype application.

Ok - from the beginning (you can tell I’m super excited about this)! Fring released a multichat iphone software allowing you to add your skype, Gtalk, ICQ etc contacts to your iphone and you can do VOIP calls to your contacts by using your Wifi connection. Once you are on 3G you won’t be able to do any calls but you can still chat via 3G.

I’m so happy about this because I can finally trash my crappy Skype headsets and just use the iPhone to do Skype calls. And the best is that you can still do free skype to skype calls. As long as you are using a wifi connection.

Hmm wondering if I should start up my fon router again. Hmm .. google said NO! Can’t connect to fon hot spots unless apple changes their T&C so it’s allowed to run programs in the background. But I think they will allow it once they release the new firmware allowing chats with push functions.
