It took me a while to figure out what the British/Irish mean with Sat-Nav ;) !

The Sat Nag is the greatest in-car invention since the Sat Nav. Actually no, it’s better than a Sat Nav, and even if it’s guaranteed to get you nowhere fast, it’s one of those jokes that just keeps on giving. Press the button on the front and a very well-recorded, patronising woman’s voice will come out with one of a host of hysterical Sat Nav-type commands.

With such crackers as: "I know you’re a man, but it’s been 35 minutes now, so can you please admit you’re lost and ask someone the way"; and "In 100 metres turn left. No right, err, no left. Sorry, I never can tell my left from my right", as well as "In 50 meters I’m going to put on my most annoying voice and say ’Is your short cut really faster when we get stuck in traffic like this, well, is it darling?" and "In 100 meters I’m going to talk to you in that special voice, which should let you know you’ve upset me in some way that is bound to be your fault". There are loads of them, and the main reason they’re so darn funny is that (whilst ducking a flying shoe) they’re so accurate, we’ve all been there, and boy are we all going there again.

There are a few ’not in front of the children’ comments, but none that are too offensive. This anti-compass has a holographic screen, highlighting the important roads such as Whiny Lane, Backseat Drive and Earache Avenue, and will have you howling with laughter both at the idiosyncrasies of women in passenger seats and also how dumb men are behind the wheel - every car should have one.

If you find that Nemo - it might eben pose for you.

This is the worlds only swim mask that has an integrated waterproof digital camera, eliminating the need to carry an underwater camera, keeping your hands free as you swim. The 5 MP camera can operate to a depth of 15’, making it ideal for use when snorkeling or in swimming pools. The masks eye pieces are made of tempered glass and have integrated crosshairs that allow you to line up shots easily; simply press the shutter button to take pictures or videos. An LED inside the mask tells you if you are in still picture or video mode.

    barcelona aguas (1 of 1)

Friends - I am back at my computer! Yeah……

Had my big first digital photo job on Barcelona taking pictures at the ECCMID and everything went very well. But the 4 days I spent there took all my energy - I am still kind of out of it.

Above you can see the odd skyscraper called "Aguas" shot from the roof of my hotel with my new camera "Sigma SD14". I had to shoot on ISO 800 because I didn’t bring a tripod but it’s still pretty impressive I think.

I also had stupid ass Windows Vista problems - all the trouble is caused by their new indexed search options. Delete, renaming and copying files took forever! This caused also Server Busy messages for my raw file editing program … all together a huge pain. I turned the indexing off under services and things are back to normal.

Hope you weren’t too bored without me … and a big thank you to Ross for shelling out some posts.

Ok, now back to blogging business!

    tiny tripod

I always wanted something like this - I always fiddle around with finding the right surface to put my digicam for longtime exposures.

What’s missing from your photo album? YOU! There are lots of pictures of your friends, your sister, your dog… but none of you. Why? Somebody has to hold the camera! That’s a lame excuse. Yes, we know the average geek is relatively anti-social, and we don’t want you to break those habits, per se, but you sure could use an extra hand.

What we’ve got is a tiny tripod that mounts to the base of your camera, It folds flat - a mere 6mm thick, so you never have to take it off! Set your camera down, place the feet so the lens is pointed right, press the timer-switch, and BOOSH. There you have a properly framed picture that proves you were there. You exist. You matter. See? It’s all about being there.
