This review is mostly interesting for readers in Germany, Austria or Switzerland or for everyone interested in technology news from other countries.

    video on mobile

Streaming videos on your mobile phone can get very expensive if you don’t have a data flat rate. The unique innovative concept of ViiF will help you control these costs.

The only thing you need is a video conference enabled phone (transferring sound and images at the same time, but I bet most if your already know what that is, right?)

Following mobile phones have been tested and are recommended by ViiF:

Nokia 6120, Nokia 6233, Nokia 6110, Nokia 6680, Nokia 7390, Nokia E61, Nokia E61i, Nokia N70, Nokia N73, Nokia N80, Nokia N95, Sony Ericsson K800i, Sony Ericsson W880i, Sony Ericsson P1i, Sony Ericsson W850i. And they keep adding more.

If you happen to own one of those phone and live in the countries mentioned above you are all set to go. ViiF is a pretty neat tool for video bloggers - you can tape and transfer your videos straight to your ViiF account. That means your videos are then instantly available for your blog readers when you installed the ViiF Video Player. Installing that player is super easy - Just copy and past and your videos are streaming right on your site, blog or myspace profile.

Now let’s talk about the costs. Streaming videos on your phone by using the services of ViiF you will be charged by the minute. And if you are lucky and have a contract with O2 right now these calls are even free. Vodafone and ePlus charges right now 0,39 Euros per Minute and T-Mobile 0,58 Euro per Minute which will hopefully change soon.

So how do you even make a call to ViiF to upload or view videos?

    For Viewing:

    • Call 22557 and press a separate button to start the video call, or
    • Call 22557 and select under your phone menue if you was to start a video call

    For transferring a video:

    • Just dial 22557 and press number 1
    • Start recording a video

And now some Tips to make your ViiF experience a good one.

    • Start your videos with a short intro, stating who you are and what people are about to see
    • Don’t move the phone too fast, otherwise the images will get blurry
    • If filming objects or people - don’t be shy, step up close so your viewers can see what’s going
    • Try to hold your phone steady
    • Try to speak loud and clear
    • Make sure your phone has good reception before starting a video call

    ireland-forum

Most of you know my Ireland Blog and since I am bored of my mind sitting here and waiting for someone to buy our car so I can finally move to Valencia as well, I decided to work on the site. First I changed the layout and applied a new theme to the blog (you should take look because this will also happen on RGS very soon, so get excited) and I added two new features: Ireland Forum and I added an Interactive Ireland Map. Not much going on yet but feel free to take a look and if you got any suggestions, please let me know.

And any other previous Ireland visitors, please share you story of your journey here.

I want a stalking chair following me everywhere.

You can check the chair out with a RFID card. The chair follows discreetly behind you, and is there whenever you need a little break. As soon as you leave the library, the chair returns autonomously to a charging slot.
