This is a paid review through: ReviewMe

Ready to get creative? When I got hired to write this review, I was like .. yet an other slide show methingy with embedding features for your blog. On the one hand it is pretty true and on the other hand I though flip was extremely easy to use. Once you managed going through the not so easy sign up process you managed the hardest part to create your own flip book.
Whoops I just noticed that they don’t let you embed your creations. That’s a minor major bummer. Oh well, anyway once you clicked on the image below you will be taken to this:
Or you can embed this little widget to draw attention to your book from your blog or site:
|
I connected to my Facebook account and uploaded couple of images onto flip.com. Chose which ones to show and in which order. Add a song (if you want to know how you get your fingers on that song I used, just leave a comment), saved it and my flip book was ready to get published.
Their interface is clean and really easy to use, as you can see here:
You can upload your media (photos, videos and audio) or take them form your Facebook or Photobucket account. Flip also offers a pretty big collection of graphics themselves which you can integrate in your book.
Easy, fun and clean!
I would love to see though the option to embed the whole flip book on any site or blog.
In April I gave away a Fon Router (Roland was the lucky winner) because Fon sent me by mistake 2 with the order of the SMC Wifi Phone (which I hate). To be honest I never ever played around with Fon and I must saw I was not really interested in sharing my Wifi connection. But all changed with our plans to move to Valencia. We are going to be apartment hunting and I was worried on how to get my creedy Wifi Antenna on some free HotSpot. Well, I remember Fon, they are Spanish company and I figured they are going to have a lot of users down there. They do!
Becoming a member is completely free, but to share your wifi you need to use their Router (Fonera):

You can either buy it on their site ($39.95) or look for it on Ebay for a cheaper price.
Optionally you can add the Fontenna which let’s you increase your signal by 5 times (which can get important when you are trying to make a few bucks of it)

It’s only 2 bucks more when you but it together with the Fonera + (their newest router version)
Once you receive your router, you need to first sign up for a user account (make sure you you choose a "Bill User" and add your paypal account).
Then hook up your your fon router to your wifi (easy instructions) set up your router online buy playing a mark on their map and you are ready to go.
The first advantage is that from now on you can use any other Fon Hotspot worldwide… almost every city has tons of them:
It is easy to locate them with their Fon Map:

Manhattan will be totally covered soon. Just check out if there any fon spots near you .. you might be really surprised.
So how do you make money? Well, it’s pretty simple. Non Fon users can buy Day Passes for around 3 dollars and you will make 1 buck from it. That’s not much - but if you are in a busy area, close to a cafe (Starbucks) you could make easily 30 bucks a month which should cover your broadband.
An other way to make money is by personalizing your Router Start Page, which everyone will see when getting access to your fon spot. There you can run your google ads or link to other sites. This way you could easily promote your site and businesses. Especially if you run a small business.
Are you worried about people using your Wifi to do monkey business? Well people have to login to use that Fon Spot. So it is still secure and if someone does something shady it is traceable because every access gets a log entry. This way you can exactly see who used your wifi and when.
2 more tips: make sure you have a flatrate and if you don’t you can set the monthly bandwith fon router is allowed to use. Just to be save.
Fon gets from me a 3 thumbs up.
I just can’t stand Wifi spots charging (especially at airports). Let’s start covering the whole world with free Wifi. Let’s do it!

NetVoting is newly born and will help especially bloggers with poll integration. I always have problems finding poll solution for Random Good Stuff but Netvoting promises an end to the endless search for it.
Very clean, easy to use and fast to set up. It’s a Germany based company and as for now it’s only set up for German speaking users, which will change soon.
It is also a social network which let’s you organize your friends, join groups. But when it come down to it is a Poll site though.
I really like the backend of each poll, netvoting provides an RSS Feed, easy style changing, stats and different embedding options for your poll.
One feature I am missing is an Geo Tracker of people casting votes, that would bring their service on to a whole new level.

We need this so badly, ours is so weak and barely covers the whole house. WANT IT!
The Internet is a series of tubes, and not a truck - everybody knows that. What we’ve got here are the longest tubes available. The Extreme Range WiFi Router blasts out 802.11b and 802.11g at 30dBm of power - the strongest radio allowed by the FCC. With a radio that powerful, your WiFi’s signal can reach up to a quarter mile in all directions!
It does so without either compromising quality or security. It supports WPA-Enterprise, WPA2, or WEP if you like. Sit on a park bench down the street, in the coffee shop around the corner, or as close as your living room couch all maintaining a signal strength higher than any other network around you.
It’s a buffet of all you can eat bandwidth, and you’ve got the biggest fork at the table! Or, wait… would the proper metaphor be the longest fork? I’m bad with simile. Now that you mention it, is the internet tubes or trucks? Sigh.

Above is a video with more details on what the gPhone "Android Mobile Platform" will be and can do. And since Steve Jobs has nothing against third party applications for the iPhone ( well .. as long as they run on the Safari based browser!) …. but I could totally see some bad ass hacker coming up with something which will turn the iPhone into a gPhone and create the best phone possible out there. I am such a dreamer and I have no idea what I am even talking about. LOL!
But did you hear that at the end? 10 Million dollar application contest. Slurp!
I am not application developer but if there is someone out there why would like to use our Movie Site “Criticker”; to create an application we would be all for it. And the best thing is … if you win the 10 Million you can keep the bigger chunk ..
!
Here are some ruff ideas on what I could see possible:
These are just my little early morning crazy thoughts but if anyone is interested in working with us please just email me or leave a comment.
The developer kit is already out .. start playing!

Engadget is blogging live from the blah blah gphone press announcement and hoping that they will announce a device like the iPhone … they will be disappointed because as you will see in the video below that basically any form can be a gPhone. How is that possible you might ask? They will be announcing a platform called Android:
Android™ will deliver a complete set of software for mobile devices: an operating system, middleware and key mobile applications. On November 12, we will release an early look at the Android Software Development Kit (SDK) to allow developers to build rich mobile applications.
Will those application will work on the iPhone? LOL ? That would mean an iPhone could be a gPhone at the same time. Genius…
