3D technology has finally hit the world of smartphones with the LG Optimus 3D and the HTC Evo 3D. 3D has enjoyed a rebirth in the cinema in recent years, so it was only a matter of time before it reached the palms of our hands. Putting aside the weeks of hype that has surrounded them, are these early 3D phones really the start of something big or will they become a forgotten flop?

There is no doubt that 3D is currently seen as cool and desirable, but the question is: how long will it be cool for? Its popularity still seems to be growing in Hollywood, so it makes sense for 3D to come to the mobile phone.

Unfortunately, it is just the camera and media player that utilize the technology at the moment, but let’s not forget how cool this feature actually is. The handsets in question not only allow you to watch 3D blockbusters in your hand, but they also give you the ability to capture your own life in 3D in video and photo format.

When you see this in action, it really does feel like it will be start of something big. You’ll wish every device you own had this technology, but that might just be because it is simply a new feature on a mobile. The novelty might wear off after two weeks and, after forking out hundreds of dollars to buy it, you will be left wondering how on earth you were sucked in in the first place.

On the other hand, the novelty might never wear off. 3D could become part of your life forever (well, maybe not forever – at least until holographic technology goes mobile). If the LG and HTC models, as well as the rumored Samsung and Apple competitors, prove popular enough then 3D could take the world by storm. Again.

LG and HTC accessories are already hitting the shops as things like the car cradle and video dock seek to enhance the 3D viewing experience for the user. People are taking notice of this new advanced mobile technology, so perhaps it will grow and become even more impressive in the near future. Considering how fast such technology moves these days, it won’t be long before phones are full 3D, but the cost of enjoying that must come down if 3D phones are going to be the next big thing.

Costs most definitely will come down over time, but this might mean that 3D phones will only become genuinely affordable when a much cooler technology hits our handsets. For the time being, though, 3D is still very cool and mobile manufacturers will continue to exploit this if interest remains high enough.

The De-3D glasses eliminate the 3D effect from 3D movies, allowing you to watch in the comfort of 2D. How do they work you say? In a traditional 3D movie, two images are displayed overlapped on the movie screen. Standard 3D glasses filter these images allowing one to be seen by the right eye and the other to be seen by the left eye. The difference between the two images creates the 3D effect and also the annoying eyestrain and headaches you may have experienced. The De-3D glasses are specially designed to eliminate the left eye image and show only the right eye image to both eyes. It starts off as a basic jump and run game but once you get stuck you can flip around the whole “screen” 3D style positioning yourself so you can pass. Ok – take a very close look. Even closer! I could not believe my eyes and thought this must be animated or some kind of cheap CGI trick. It’s not and watching this video will teach you that you could be able a great master of illusion as well using this technique. So simple to mind blowing – it will change your life forever. Talking of Android … my iPhone is broken, it can’t find anymore Wifi signals. I reset and re-install everything there is but I still had no luck. Man, stupid 3G was just a little over 2 years old. Come on!

Since I said I never ever will go again with an Apple product I stick with it. But I would be more than happy with the new HTC Desire HD, the LG Optimus Chic or any other similar smartphone. But which one?

Dear readers – drop anything you are doing right now!!! You have to go to the movies. We went to see Avatar in 3D yesterday and I’m still dazzled by it. I mean dazzled in a super good way.

This movie sets new standards in the movie industry. Last time I had this kind of wow effect was watching the Matrix and that’s couple of years ago.

When I saw short clip of the Avatar trailer – I was rather turned off not my kind of movie. But reading couple of Avatar reviews changed my mind.

If you don’t want to miss out on cinematic history you have to watch this movie in theaters and in 3D!!!

Also watch UP in 3D and thought this was in incredible but Avatar was truly something else.
