Atlanta UFO and Olympics Pictures

It seems like a long time ago when I had my photo job in Atlanta but I still owe you the remaining pics before I move on to the next stop on my US trip … which was Pittsburgh. Looking back now I can’t believe how much I walked. Next time I will rent a bike

While scanning Atlanta I came across some Tailgating – odd and interesting. I wished I was down there hanging out with some cool people … munching on a burger and drink some beer. Maybe next time.

Romantic Atlanta during Sunset

During that short time in Atlanta I walked myself some nice blisters. You might ask why not take a taxi and I answer how are you supposed to get to know a city if you don’t walk & observe? Was kind of odd … at times I was the only not homeless person walking around. Made tons of friends.

First Atlanta Pictures

I’m back home now for over a week and I have been pretty busy and just finally found some time to upload the first set of Atlanta pictures. Atlanta was very strange and partly deserted and with probably the strangest downtown area I experienced in a US city. Don’t get me started on the “Underground” I mean how can you recommend that to any visitors. Scrap this on all tourist guides for Atlanta. I did like the architecture (sometimes reminded me of the Hansaviertel in Berlin) and the contrasts of old and new. Loved that strange Marriott Hotel and the inside CNN studio tour. Skipped the Coca Cola and the Aquarium which is like effen $56! Sorry, I don’t have that budget for that.

Design / Boutique Hotel – The ARTmore Atlanta

Reaching out sometimes can really help sometimes. I got to stay in this awesome boutique hotel in Atlanta after I finished up with my photo job there. The hotel is right next to the Artes Center metro station which connects Midtown, Downtown and the airport with that one train. A cap ride to downtown from this hotel is $8.

Loved staying this hotel – very modern but not over the top interior design, the rooms are very comfortable and personal ( greetings cards addressing you by your name are all over the place), tons of store, kitchen area, flat screen TV and great big bed!!! What I like best about the Artmore Hotel is the fact that they have more free wifi routers then electronic outlets, it seem and they will not charge you for that. Big thumbs up for that.

Also included is breakfast, fitness room and this really awesome outside fireplace.

So if you are ever in need of a need and too to big hotel in Atlanta check out the Artmore Hotel.

Fox Theater in Atlanta

First set of Atlanta pictures after the TeaBaggers. I knew about the Fox Theater but I didn’t know it’s that cool. I wish I had a chance to go inside to take some pictures of the interior design as well. As must seen when in Atlanta.

Marquis Marriott Atlanta – Organic Spaceship Hotel

From the outside the Marquis Marriott Atlanta looks like any other high rise hotel except for the belly curved sites. Once you step in the only thing there is left to say is BWOAH! I thought the Marquis Marriott in Times Square NYC is breathtaking but the Marquis Marriott Atlanta is truly unique and I never have seen anything like this before. It feels organic and looks like a spaceship and the Noak’s Ark at the same time.

Teabaggers in Atlanta

Made my very first contact with teabaggers. Yeah! And that on the very first day in the US. I secretly hoping to see some but so soon…. nice! I was on my way to the CNN HQ and there they were holding up their signs.

But guys, come on .. Fox news? There is nothing news about it.

CNN HQ was fun and worth the $13 … next time I will do that VIP tour where you actually get to go inside the studio and newsroom. I was wondering if any CNN news editor has ever been on RGS.

Going to Atlanta

I got hired by a Japanese company taking photographs in Atlanta (towards the end of October). Strange but they like my work and I worked for them in the past. So, sure … I go !

Any Atlanta pro reading this? What should I check out? Sights, restaurants, etc?

Also, I’m always looking for interesting things to photograph.

Kind of was hoping to find a company (Coca Cola?) who would invite me over to take some pictures. Like what I did at Koziol in Germany. Anyone has a connection?

After that I will be in Ohio and Kentucky hanging with family and this time I will visit the Creation Museum.
