Wave goodbye to boring old tartan thermos flasks, this is the 21st century. That’s why style conscious planet huggers (course they exist) are using the Eco Can to keep drinks hot or cold on the move.

It looks like a regular tin can but this durable drinks container is made from biodegradable PLA (a kind of corn starch) which is infinitely kinder to Mother Nature than petroleum-based counterparts. That means you can drink on the go whilst doing your bit for the environment, a particularly satisfying feeling if you fill up with icy beer. ‘Urp…look at me, I’m shaving the enviromum.’

Yes! And cars these days shouldn’t be depending on petrol anyways.

These are the remote controlled racecars that are powered by three different renewable energy sources. With a miniature windmill, solar panel, and hydrogen fuel cell, this set demonstrates the possibilities that wind, sun and water present for sustainable energy.

The wind and solar stations provide up to 20 minutes of racing time from a 10-30 minute charge, depending on wind speed and brightness of the sun; the hydrogen fuel cell provides five minutes of run time from a three-minute charge. The simple remote has left/right and forward/reverse controls, a 10′ range, and can be used to charge the cars in one minute when time or natural resources prove scarce.

How it works

Once you’ve programmed this pebble, it signals a yellow light at your half-shower mark and flashes red when it’s time to turn off the faucet.

The real genius

This pebble incrementally shortens its suggested stop time, training you over weeks to use water wisely. Have fun with your timer by turning it a clean game of race-against-the-pebble!

To program your pebble

Click its base to restart, then place it near your shower drain. It records your water usage on the first try and flashes future finishing times against this benchmark.

Crafted from sustainably harvested birch and ash woods, our Countertop Bag Dryer makes it easy to dry and reuse plastic bags. Folds for storage.

A review:

I bought a bunch of snack taxi bags (they’re great too – check them out!) for my daughters lunches. They’re re-usable bags with cute designs on the outside and almost like tent material on the inside. I give them a quick hand-wash in the sink and hang them to dry on this great little dryer – it works out perfect! I used to go through the snack and sandwich sized baggies like mad, but between these two products I’ve definitely cut down on our plastic consumption and waste. An additional bonus is that because it’s so easy, it’s helped to motivate me to integrate more "green" practices into our home life and reduce our consumption and waste (yay!) When you’re not using the dryer the wooden ring lifts up, bringing the wooden dowels together to make a narrow, compact unit you can easily stuff in a drawer or corner. I love it!

Much like our 6 in 1 Solar Powered Robot, this T3 Robot harnesses the power of the sun to make your day that little bit more interesting. Unlike the rather cutesy 6 in 1, however, the T3 takes a slightly more aggressive stance – once you’ve built it you can turn it into either a tank, a scorpion or a standard robot (we’re not sure there’s such a thing as a standard robot, but there we are). And if those three different guises aren’t enough for you then, well, you’re just no fun, are you? What’s not to like about a solar-powered scorpion that waddles across your desk like some mechanised arthropod? That’s right – nothing.

Being a solar-powered robot or tank or scorpion, the T3 requires no batteries whatsoever, just a healthy glare of sunshine.

Glass butter keeper lets you store a stick of butter outside of the refrigerator so that it spreads easily. Two-piece keeper features a top that lifts up and flips over to become a server and a water filled base that helps preserve and keep butter soft and spreadable. Clear glass lets you monitor water and butter levels at a glance.
