There are small LEGO sets, there are large LEGO sets, there are even very large LEGO sets. And then there’s the LEGO Statue of Liberty. It features a daunting 2,882 pieces and a graphic guide book to show you how to construct the statue in just 80 steps. A lot of work? Sure it is. But with great work comes great rewards. The completed piece stands an impressive 2 feet, 9 inches tall and is an impressive tribute to one of the most recognizable monuments in the world. Of course, since this is LEGO, all pieces are compatible with all others, so once Lady Liberty is built you can let your imagination run wild and add her to whatever pirate or spaceman motif you already have going.

You probably picked up by now that Mike and I are travel bloggers. We can pack all of our belongings and be ready to move to our next location within 30 minutes (yes, we’ve timed ourselves). So everything we own has to fit into two suitcases and one big bag. Every time we move, we find ways to reduce the amount of luggage. So when I heard about the Urshuz concept I thought it sounded perfect for us. Now I can have cool summer shoes and flip flops in one.
It took some practice to master snapping the hooks over the soles, but soon I was changing from shoes to sandals pretty quickly.

The philosophy behind Grant’s system was inspired by one of his favorite childhood toys: Lego. Just as kids can build whatever they imagine with the different shapes and colors of the building blocks, Grant thought it would be cool if people could enjoy playing with options and being creative with their own shoes, just as he has been able to for the past fifteen years in his design work. He wanted the consumer to have that same youthful feeling of inspiration and limitless possibility.
