I’m counting the days of my current laptop. No this is not my computer but mine is almost falling apart. We will be back in Europe and I’m planning to buy a new Laptop. Since we are traveling for the next 4 years I’m looking for the best machine for a traveling blogger. After a year of traveling I’m expecting much more from my new computer. Here is what I want.

Super practical and full of good plastic design! Perfect for camping!!!

The exterior of the lamp is an actual rubber balloon, which can be deflated for storage or travel. The hook at the top allows you to hang the lamp anywhere you need it; in storage rooms, by your reading nook, or even in a tent when camping! The internal, high-power LED bulb puts out plenty of illumination without getting hot, and turns on and off with a twist of the base. Just two, easily replaceable lithium-coin batteries can power the lamp for 100 hours of continuous use. Comes with two balloons

Meet the human traffic light. I spotted this guy yesterday in Sucre, Bolivia. Yes – you heard it right, we made it to Bolivia and are loving it. What an incredible city right in the mountains. We are here since Tuesday, after a dramatic good-bye to our Dog Chucky in Buenos Aires. The cargo company at first didn’t want to take her since we expected to pay with credit card and they only accepted cash. What a nightmare! Everything is sorted out now!

This is probably the coolest thing I have seen so far in 2011!!!

This is the illuminated, street-legal motorcycle inspired by the computer animated cycle from the 2010 film Tron: Legacy. Designed for casual cruising and slow ride-bys at shows, it is made from a steel frame covered by a fiberglass cowling that replicates the sleek look of its computer-generated imagery counterpart. Electroluminescent strips built into the tire cowlings, wheel rims, and body illuminate the cycle. It is powered by a fuel-injected Suzuki 996cc, 4-stroke engine.

Riders lay at a near-horizontal position astride the padded leather seat, with feet on foot pegs that control its 6-speed constant mesh manual transmission and hands on the handlebars for throttle and braking. The hubless wheels are former truck tires built up then custom-shaped to fit onto one of two counter-rotating rims spinning within each other, providing the broad-tired authenticity of the computer cycles from the movie.

A chain-driven friction drum manages acceleration and braking from the handlebars. It has spring-loaded front and rigid rear suspension. Its wet sump lubrication system eliminates tubes and hoses for oil pick-up, facilitating its streamlined, minimalist design. It uses a 3 1/2-gallon main fuel tank and 1 1/4-gallon reserve tank.

I want human powered iPhone and laptops! But that human powered light bulb is definitely a step in the right direction.

Sure you’ve seen static electricity at work: static cling, bad hair days, a shock from a door knob… but now you can put all of that body electricity to good use and light a small neon light bulb! Body static electricity can be in excess of 10,000 volts… but amperage is so low, its harmless! Hold on to one of the light bulb wires and walk across your carpet, dragging your feet as you go. This builds up a charge of static electricity that discharges through the light bulb in your hand. You power the bulb! Try it in a darkened room to see the full glow.

Leaving notes at the fridge is so 2008 .. tzzzz!

Remember when you were a kid and played with your Lite-Brite? It sure was fun spending an hour or an afternoon (depending on how adept your skills were) to build that happy clown from the packaging. But then what? All that hard work and they expected you to just yank the pegs and start again? How is that fun? Well, times have changed, friend, times have changed. Get ready to launch into the 4th dimension of fun with the Lite-Brite Cubed!

The Lite-Brite Cubed has four faces instead of just one, and four faces means four pictures. Think of all the fun you can have now! You can make four different lite drawings all at once (one at a time, or flitting from one to the next to the next, lingering as long as your attention span allows). Or, and this is the crazy cool part, you and three other friends or coworkers can make lite drawings all at the same time. This really is the next generation of Lite-Brite. The Lite-Brite Cubed brings all the joy of Lite-Brite, but without all the despair of having to destroy a picture as soon as you are done when you want to build a new one. Lite-Brite Cubed: a Lite-Bright for yesterday’s future – today!

This LED mine can make a difference in your life.

How many times have you found yourself walking down a dark, pipe filled hallway, your weapons drawn ready to defend against whatever undead creature is waiting to feast on your entrails? For us, it’s like at least three times a week. Well, we finally have an edge up on those beasties, and that’s because we have a pocket full of LED Magnetic Light Mines. We turn them on, stick them to the pipes, and then we can see exactly what waits ahead.

Because each LED Magnetic Light Mine is one super-bright, wide angle LED light surrounded by 12 stalks. Each stalk has a neodymium magnet on the end. Which means you not only can attach these lights to any magnetic surface, but you can aim the light, too. Perfect to keep in your briefcase, tool box, or anywhere you know you might need some directional light in a hurry. We keep ours attached to our shotgun, so we can see how many zombies we can waste before we need to reload. Ka-BLAAAM!
