I love flying, well let’s say I used to love flying. Somehow between my first flight and currently flying “the magic” about traveling by plane has gone or better said flown far far away. It’s just too much hassle and pain. Flying these days is only fun if you can afford flying in Business / First Class. You can skip lanes, tons of leg room, great service. In a couple of days we will be flying to the US to see family and to drop off our doggy before going our next travel blog stop Sri Lanka.

This flight will be the longest trip EVER. Ohio to NYC. Then to Jordan and finally over to Colombo. This will take us 30 hours and we will lose 2 days!!!

We booked with Royal Jordanian Airways in economy class. I’ve read that their legroom in eco is decent but PLEASE if someone from their PR reads this, I’m almost 2 meter tall!!! And I would look just so fly in your awesome crown class. It’s super cozy!

First person to scream fake wins. Even though I’m pretty sure that this video is for real. 2 fail paper planes and 1 really rocks going down very slow and smoothly. Now we need the instructions to build our own. And do the impossible aim like they did. If I would have have telekinetic powers I would be controlling a whole bunch of other things but paper planes. Here is a funny thought – let’s snatch one of those tribe people, have them blindfolded and ear plugged. Bring him in the middle of Times Square and follow him with cameras for 24 hours. That would be so interesting. Freak? I know I would!

I am Jay Maynard, the Tron Guy. I bought this airplane new from AMD on June 12, 2008. It’s a fully equipped Zodiac XLi, the last CH601XLi built before AMD switched to the CH650LSi. This is not an experimental aircraft, unlike most Zodiacs flying, but a factory-built SLSA.

It’s loaded to the gills with a full IFR panel, including a Garmin GNS430W nav/comm/GPS, a Garmin GTX330 mode S transponder, a Garmin SL40 backup comm radio, a Garmin GMA340 audio panel, and a TruTrak Digiflight IIVSG two-axis autopilot with GPS steering and vertical speed select. There’s a mount for a Garmin GPS496 on the center console, and the unit is wired in to aircraft power and audio panel. It’s fully certified and legal to fly IFR.

The airframe has nearly every option AMD offers, including a leather interior, Temperfoam seating, canopy cover, parking brake, wheel pants, electric aileron trim, dual trim controls, fuel flow meter, Koger sun shade, tow bar, and a Tanis heater system for the O-200 engine.

I designed the paint to match my TRON costume, without going completely overboard. The green color is a direct match for the color of the costume, done specially by AMD’s paint supplier. It’s unusual, but everyone who sees it loves it. The airplane turns heads everywhere it goes. The same goes for the interior, which I designed – and it’s never been smoked in. (My preflight passenger briefing includes the sentence "If you smoke in my airplane, I’ll assume you’re on fire and take appropriate measures.")

A fellow blogger also located here in Spain experienced a horror flight trying to get home to Bilbao. He was not on the flight showing in the the video above but it was horror enough.
