Now you can look cool and retro when you exchange business cards with this Famicom Business Card Holder, a real case for keeping yours and others’ cards in the design of a Famicom console. Not only does it look the real McCoy but it also opens up two ways – ideal for organizing which cards are your own and which you have been given.

Meet the first ever analog "digital" photo frame. By "digital," we mean it has a Mac software window silk-screened onto it. By hand. Which is amusing when you think about it. It’s a manually-applied representation of a computer interface which holds your printed image which was probably taken on a digital camera. You don’t have to worry about the LCD panel on this one; it’s a piece of transparent glass. You don’t have to register it, there are never any software updates required, and if the power goes out, it continues to function.

Wooden photo frame measures 5 3/4 inches wide by 4 3/4 inches high and holds a 4 3/4 inch by 3 3/4 inch photo. Includes a sheet of paper in the frame to represent the transparent background in Photoshop, and a pressboard kickstand-style stand.

Bill Elkins demonstrates the mobility of the EX-1A, which he developed at AiResearch in the late 1960s. It was the first suit to use his patented toroidal joints, and was the most mobile suit that had been created at that time. (Most of the motions in this video would not have been possible in the Apollo suit.) The EX-1A (which on the moon would have been covered with a cloth material) is pressurized 35 percent higher than the Apollo suits.

Those suits required considerable effort to move, and had pneumatic spring forces that rebounded to the neutral position. By contrast, the EX-1A joints were very low-torque and came much closer to mimicking the full mobility of the human body.

When retro catches up with current technology.

Anyone who grew up in the 80s will tell you how cool the Duck Hunter video game was (especially when you got to use that garishly orange computer gun). Well now you can relive the fun in the noughties with Duck Hunter, the indoor flying duck hunt game. The game consists of an autonomous flying duck, complete with flapping wings (the technical term ornithopter) and an infra-red gun, complete with bullet sound effects – you can even cock it like a real hunting gun.

The duck flies randomly around the room (how randomly depends on whether you’ve set it up for a straight or circular flight pattern) for up to 40 seconds or until you’ve shot it 3 times. It doesn’t need mains power, so as long as you’ve got fresh batteries the Duck Hunter is good to go in as little as ten seconds- just connect it to the charging dock on the gun for a quick burst and you’re ready to go hunting. It’s all the fun of hunting in the comfort of your own home.

Will there ever be a PS3 mini handheld retro system? Even better, Wii?

Way back in 1985 what would you have been willing to give for a handheld NES? Your full collection of Garbage Pail Kids cards maybe?… or how about your old Atari 2600 and a sealed copy of ET? Well now now thanks to the discriminating product monkeys at ThinkGeek all you need is half a Benjamin and some old NES cartridges to achieve portable gaming Nirvana. Thats right, the Retro Mini Handheld plays all the classic 8-bit NES games you grew up with and looks pretty darn sweet with the old style giant cartridge protruding from the top.

Simply pop in 4 AA batteries and jack in your favorite original NES cartridge. The built in hi-res LCD screen looks a hell of a lot better than your old crappy TV, plus the Retro Mini comes with AV out cables to connect with your newfangled flatscreen if you so desire.

Important Note
The Retro Mini does not come with any games. You’ll need to find your own cartridges or buy some on eBay. Also old NES cartridges will probably have cruddy contacts. Remember that the cartridges are very finicky if not cleaned properly. Make sure you clean the contacts on your cartridges or they may not work properly in the Retro Mini.

The Plus Minus Zero LCD Television is another fun release by the guys at ±0 Design. They interpret the heart of an old cathode-ray TV using a compact, energy efficient liquid-crystal display, giving us a retro device that would have been impossible to build in the time that inspired it. Carrying on the minimal design, the TV has a separate wireless receiver that can beam images to it from anywhere in the house- all you have to do is plug it into a power socket. Comes in white, red, or black.

Get a little retro feeling when popping those CDs in a CD player.

Four achingly cool retro CD discs that look just like mini vinyl records, so you can make a classic music collection with style.

The Memory Vinyl CDs are the ‘now’ equivalent of when we used to make classic (and often just a little sad) music collections on old cassette tapes. Except of course that what with drag and dropping MP3s it’s considerably easier and less time consuming than it used to be. All those rainy Sunday afternoons spent painfully sorting through our record collections to find the perfect tracks to lay scratchingly down* onto clunky little cassettes – no doubt making ‘The Best Rock Collection Ever II’. Well now they’re over, and these iconic discs are a fantastic way to make great record collections to give to friends, and perhaps even to that girl with pigtails in the second row in Maths class who makes your heart beat faster. They’re quite possibly the coolest record collection ever.
