Christmas outdoor lighting can get out of control sometimes. Save a buck on your electricity bill and do something good for the nature with those solar powered Christmas lights.

Unlike standard outdoor holiday lights that must be tethered to an electric source, these solar powered lights can be strung anywhere in your yard. A small solar panel stakes into the ground up to 7′ away from the light strand and powers 102 bright LEDs for up to nine hours after an eight-hour charge. Seven different light patterns dance along the strand in succession, or you can select your favorite sequence to flash continuously or have the lights provide steady illumination with the touch of a button. The solar panel gathers moderate or direct sunlight during the daytime and automatically turns the lights on at dusk and off at dawn. The 32′ 9"-long strand provides enough slack to adorn trees, railings, or lampposts. The LEDs are rated for 10,000 hours of operation.

Lower your electricity bill by get your kids cranking this kit (just kidding).

This is the child’s comprehensive renewable energy source experiment kit. A wind turbine, solar cell, electrolytic cells, and a hand-operated dynamo generate electricity that is stored in a rechargeable battery and then is distributed through the integrated circuit board to power a motor, LEDs, and buzzer using wiring terminated with alligator clips.

The built-in voltmeter allows children to observe the effectiveness of each source of energy. The kit’s sourcebook explains different methods for reducing energy costs at home while providing a primer about the world’s energy sources.

Wondering if I could attach the portable microwave somehow.

This vest is like a solar power station to keep your cell phone, portable media player, notebook computer, digital camera, and other portable electronics fully powered while you are working outdoors. This "fashion-tech" canvas vest is the perfect field accessory for photographers, archeologists, investigators, geologists, and anyone else constantly working outdoors.

The CVFR-S09 Solar Vest is designed for your comfort and convenience. It comes with big storage pockets for holding tools or camera equipment and includes a battery pack + cables and connectors for all of today’s popular portable electronics. The vest’s canvas is soft but durable and the stitching is second to none. The vest’s 4 solar panels are laminated to be truly weatherproof, so you don’t have to change this vest just because the weather is bad. You can also detach the solar panels and place them in sunlight while you are working inside a cave or shaded terrain.

So how do you use it? Well, just because it’s high tech and super hip doesn’t mean it’s difficult to use. While you walk outside, the four solar panels on the back of the vest absorb solar energy and store it in a high-capacity battery located in the front left pocket. When your cell phone or other gadget needs power, just plug it into the battery and let it charge. Simple as that!

The CVFR-S09 is a must have item for the next time you hike, travel cross country, backpack, or go cruising for chicks. This item is in stock and available for single quantity or bulk orders, so grab one for yourself today or purchase five to resell on your internet storefront.

Original text from the auction page:

Zanis plans to make the pyramid shaped Dream Car 123 go over 250mph in a Tunnel from city to city. Right now Greg has made a prototype that goes about 15 to 20 and may go up to 40 down hill. The prototype is what you see in the videos here on there on the website. We want to make the real car someday right now we are looking for investors. This renewable energy car can be charge in a solar tower garage made for the car. The garage will have a wind turbine to turn wind and sunbeams into usable electricity that will charge the batteries insane the tower. Then the towel using all green energy can be used to charge your car and power your home.

Yes, you heard it right! I’m giving away this backpack every ubergeek is going to love. It charges cell phones and other small appliances which can be charged via USB. This $250 value backpack can be yours.

It’s made off recycled PET bottles and has a solar panel strong enough to charge your gadgets fully in matter of 1-2 hours. It’s very durable and water-resistant and even fits a laptop.

Check out some more images of this beauty:

As you can see it contains tons of storage space.

What do you need to do in order to win?

First off visit the manufacture site: Soular and take a note of the Peak Voltage of this backpack (yes, you will have to search for it)!

Then go to your twitter account and follow me (in case you haven’t yet) and tweet this:

RandomGoodStuff is raffling this awesome solar backpack: http://tinyurl.com/bq372h [RT @RandomGoodStuff ]

After that send me an email to jogi21 ———– @ ———- gmail.com with your tweeted message and the peak voltage number of this backpack.

I will pick one random winner who did all the above on March 10th 2009 and announce him/her on RGS and via Twitter.

Big thanks to Soular for the chance to raffle one of their backpacks. Check out their site for other cool solar products.

On top of that, the USB port charges your phone/gadgets, all using clean solar energy!

I don’t know what’s up lately with those cute little DIY but I had to post this one too.

What happens when you combine the federal stimulus package with billions in funding for alternative energy sources, monkeys and the sun? Well you get the Solar Climbing Orangutan of course. Assemble this resourceful simian and set-up a string suitable for climbing. As long as the sun is shining (or you burn valuable electricity by applying your own light) this orange orangutan keeps climbing. We wanted to offer you the Nuclear Climbing Orangutan… but unfortunately couldn’t get them into the country due to high lead content.

Important Note
You need to assemble the Solar Climbing Orangutan… but don’t worry it’s pretty easy if you can follow directions and have about 20 minutes. Only a screwdriver is required.

ChumAlong is a device for orienting a solar photovoltaic panel toward the sun. As the sun’s position in the sky varies during the day, ChumAlong’s job is to make sure the Solar Panel is always pointing at the brightest point in the sky. Accomplishing this ensures that the solar panel can deliver it’s maximum output from available sunlight of the day. 30%-50% increases in efficiency can be obtained over conventional stationary methods!
