Greatest things – silly cactuses can’t sting you anymore. This remind me of a story – last year we took friends to the castle in Sagunto (see last picture for what kind of cactus) and one of our visitors just had to harvest that cactus fruit. Thorn on his finger … touched is lips and the day was ruined.

Hand crafted in Italy, each of these gorgeous, anthropomorphic planters are one of a kind. Designer Matteo Cibic refers to his little creations as a tamgochi for your table, but we like to think of them as a little (actually, at 11"high, not SO little) space-age homes for your cactus.

Who needs an office? Just give me that and I could work anywhere!

This is the desk and chair ensconced inside a pod, providing flexible yet unobtrusive working space. By Dutch innovator Michiel van der Kley, who took his inspiration from examining the eclectic designs conceptualized by 1930s futurists, the 2 1/2′ diameter pod is comprised of two durable polyurethane hemispheres that, when opened with its built-in handle, forms a seat and a workspace.

The foam-molded seat swivels 180°, and is padded and luxuriously upholstered in leather, placing users 1 1/2′ from the base for comfortable, relaxed reclining while working. The workstation’s sturdy volkern plastic desktop unfolds and extends from the front hemisphere, supported by a hidden steel bracket; small items may be stored underneath the work surface.

Hey inventors of the KatKabin… what about a KatLitterkabin with automated sliding doors, too keep the stink in?

A healthy cat has a hearty social life. This means that your cat may not get back to the house until well into the early hours of morning and if you’re not allowed to install a catflap in your backdoor or just can’t bear the security risks one poses you’ll be subjected to that all to familiar mewling ("please let me indoors, it’s ever so chilly outside – you know I love you really") until you finally drag yourself out of bed and dutifully let the cat back in. Now you can sleep easy with the KatKabin.

For too long now, dogs have been favoured with the kennel – their own little maisonette in which to earn some well earned rest. Now cats too can have their own DezRez in the KatKabin. It’s a very cosy shelter that’ll protect your cat from the elements while they recover from a night on the tiles – no longer will you have to surface at the crack of dawn just to crack the back door open.

The KatKabin is insulated with a special cat cushion that’ll keep your moggy comfy and warm while the weather turns sour. Its Oval design even makes sure that the heat circulates and because it stands above ground your cat won’t get cold feet. Or, if you’re particularly fond of spoiling your cat you could just set it up indoors so it has its own private boudoir.

Oh – neat. I should go run and create a youtube 3D Channel. I’m back just created one!

Capable of creating a mind-blowing stereoscopic effect, this USB-friendly camera will have you and your online buddies cowering behind your keyboards in awe as noses, fingers and anything else you’d care to thrust forth are given genuine depth and incredible reach-out-and-touch realism.

Yes, you’ve got to wear a pair of old-school 3D glasses but that just adds to the fun – well we think it does ‘cos they look really silly. Besides, who cares about faintly ridiculous face furniture when friends and family can see you in eye-popping 3D, over messaging programs such as Windows Live Messenger, Skype, AOL Instant Messenger, OoVoo and many more. You can even use this three-legged thingamabob to take 3D photos and shoot 3D videos which you can upload to YouTube.
