One of the reasons why love Spain is because of it’s crazy festivals. We experienced so many great and unforgettable moments during our 2 year stay in Spain. Here are some of the greatest festivals besides the one you see above. Our favorite though is Fallas (click the links, they lead to some crazy stuff) and then come these: The Traslado de la Virgen – Paseo de las Rocas 2010 – Dia de America.

Savannah is known for it’s St. Patrick’s day but we already gone again to our next destination.

- Crazy Hostels

Dear readers – last couple of days have been busy, we packed our things (including our doggy) and left Spain to spend 91 days for our travel blog in Savanna, GA. It was pretty emotional leaving Spain – Valencia has been my favorite place to live in ever (I thought) but Asturias made me don’t miss it at all.

Right now I’m in Denver for a photo assignment similar to the one I did in Atlanta – need to take cool pictures again of the city. Anyone has recommendations? Already heard the Blue Bear at the congress center is a must. Any other ideas? Stupid question, but is there any chance to see mountains from a building in downtown?

What else is here to see and to do? Good restaurants or specialties I can’t miss. After my assignment Mike will join me and we are off to see couple of friends here. Then to Louisville to have dinner with the cousins – then staying over night at a casino and then driving to my brother and sister in law to see them and of course Princess Niece on the next day.

After that we pick up our dog (which Mike first dropped off hat his parents) and then drive down to Savannah.

Pant pant pant. Exciting days ahead !

Back to Oviedo and Asturias – I really don’t understand why EVERYONE runs to Ireland. Asturias has so much more to offer, has similar landscape, real mountains, better food  and more interesting culture (I think).

If you ever find yourself having some extra time, after visiting Madrid or Barcelona. VISIT Oviedo and/or Valencia (these are two very overlooked gems in Spain with not too many foreign tourists)

During our stay in Asturias we blogged 101 article, published over 900 images and discovered many things locals didn’t even know about. We got featured on a Spanish news site and got interviewed for the Asturias Radio.

Great success I’d say!

- Book Hostels Worldwide

The time for us in Oviedo is ticking down and the last couple of days have been very hectic to do the remaining must see and do things here in Asturias. Our twitter account for For 91 Days has been very helpful – we get great tips from our followers and this beach above was one of them.

An inland beach! I never heard about something like this and even though I did some Google image search on that beach I still had a hard time imagining it.

- Great Hotels in Spain

We went to La Laboral University in Gijón which is the biggest building in Spain (it’s awesome check it out) and after we did the regular touristic tour we ended up in the former kitchen of the university. You guessed it right, it was HUGE too.

There was an awesome temporary art exhibit – not really sure what it was about because I just run around taking pictures like a maniac … but it was cool. Check out the other pictures:

- Movie Blog

On our recent Atlantic hike on the coast of Asturias we noticed an odd and rare rock illusion. Maybe we were so obsessed with the idea to spot a bear (probably not though on the Atlantic coast) but it is possible to run into a bear in the wild ( even not caged in too). So we walked by this odd shaped rock formation and then couple of hundred meters further we looked back and saw this:

A huge teddy bear sitting on a rock!!!

I want to go back now and film it, how a slice of rock can transform into a teddy bear. I think Asturias just gotten an other place of pilgrimage.

You know Calatrava’s crazy architecture from Valencia, Spain:

• City of Arts and Sciences
• Agora
• Prince Philipe Museum

He also got hired to designthe World Trade Center Transportation Hub. Anyways, right now he is building this huge monster right in the middle of Oviedo.

From far away it’s very distracting – it just does not fit in there. But from closer up it’s AWESOME. It messes with you mind – optical illusions all over the place.

Wondering how we are doing here in Oviedo and with our new project For 91 Days?

So far it has been awesome and we are not regretting our decision to become Digital Nomads. Couple of highlights of the last (and first) 3 weeks here.

• The maybe cutest town in Spain
• Day Trip to Gijon
• Central Market Oviedo
• Picturesque Oviedo

And our decision where to go next is settled now too – SAVANNAH, GA! I think it’s interesting and tons to do which should keep us busy for 91 days. But we have one problem .. we can’t find a decent place near or in the Historic Center which allows our little French Bulldog girl.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN APARTMENT IN SAVANNAH!

Can anyone help? We are good house sitters too

I was watching the news yesterday  and there was a story on the immense pigeon problem in Spanish cities. They also showed these private guys going on with these catapulting nets and then the reporter was saying something with delicious?! Emm not idea what I understood that but the cities are not supporting these kind of mass capture techniques. On an other note Parany got outlawed in Valencia.

- How to pull a bird?

Normally when you think of Spain you would think of this … BEACHES!

It’s our first 1 1/2 weeks in Oviedo and we already done and blogged tons. One of the highlights was hiking the Path of the Bears where I took above picture. It was incredible and a scenery you would never guess exists in Spain.

The hike was 22km long and went a long an old miners train track, through tunnels along a river. AWESOME! You might wonder why bears … well because Asturias has bears – there were even just recently a sighting of free-range bears couple of days ago. And we actually saw some bears on our hike as well … see:

I can’t believe how huge the new Cahtedral in Salamanca looks – the pathways look like alleys filmed at night.
